Learning Format
For The Love Of The Game Ringette
Academy teaches learning through fun - after all, isn't that why we play
ringette? Each session includes the introduction of a new skill,
practicing that skill, and then 30-45 minutes of Shinny Ringette.
In Shinny Ringette the ring is always live, encouraging hustle and
urgency, and there are no penalties (penalty shots instead).
Players of all ages and skill levels play together with lines matched by
skill. Players LOVE this environment as they have the opportunity
to play at their level, rather than by age.
What will I
learn in Advanced Level?
Skills taught will be advanced skills such as wrist shots,
shooting zones, and positional play with a focus on proper execution.
One new concept will be taught each class with players being able to
practice that skill via skill based games and shinny.

BEST-OF-THE-BEST
INSTRUCTORS!
Megan Horne,
Edmonton WAM alumni, will also be instructing!
Advanced vs. Level 1
The Advanced class is intended
for Novice players who attended 2009 For The Love Of The Game Academy,
Petite and Tween players.
There is a quick review of fundamentals, with a focus on advanced skills
and individual techniques. How are
we different?
For The Love Of The Game is
about exactly that - The Love Of The Game. We follow Lisa Brown's
coaching philosophy of having fun while learning. Therefore, we
have incorporated unique ideas such as daily Heart & Hustle Awards,
skating to music, and game-based drills into our program.
